You can schedule regular data backups in the DBA Planning Calendar.
Setting Up and Using the DBA Planning Calendar
Define appropriate backup templates.
Follow the scheduling concept.
Open the DBA Planning Calendar.
You can use an action pattern for the data backups.
To schedule the data backups, proceed as described in Scheduling an Action. Use one of the following actions:
Complete data backup: In a data backup, you back up the content of the data area and the database parameters necessary for a restore onto a data carrier.
Incremental data backup: In an incremental data backup, all pages of the data volumes are backed up that have changed since the last complete data backup.
Complete Data Backup (Bridge): With this data backup, you back up the contents of the data area and other data required to restore an SAP MaxDB bridge system onto a volume.
Before a scheduled backup action is due to start, make sure that the data-carriers have been inserted and are ready to run.
The required backups are scheduled. Check the scheduled actions. The backups are updated at the specified time.
Check the results of the data backups in the DBA Planning Calendar, as described Displaying Actions. Use the information displayed in the DBA History. Also use the Backup/Restore display in the Database/liveCache Alert Monitor.
