Use

In the Administration user menu, you can start, stop, or initialize an SAP liveCache database, or register liveCache applications.

Note

If a user is performing administration functions, administration is locked for all other users.

Starting, stopping, or initializing an SAP liveCache database is performed using the Database Manager CLI.

Prerequisites

In accordance with the authorization concept, the user was assigned one of the roles SAP_BC_LVC_OPERATOR, SAP_BC_LVC_ADMINISTRATOR or SAP_BC_LVC_SUPERUSER.

Procedure

  1. In the user menu, choose liveCache Assistant (transaction LC10).

  2. Enter the name of the database connection. You can select the name from the list of existing names. You can restrict the search for the required name.

  3. Choose Start of the navigation path liveCache Next navigation step Monitoring End of the navigation path.

  4. Choose Start of the navigation path Administration Next navigation step  Operating End of the navigation path.

The messages display is part of the DBA Cockpit and can therefore also be called as follows:

  1. Open DBA Cockpit (transaction DBACOCKPIT).

  2. The display options in DBA Cockpit vary depending on which SAP NetWeaver release you are using.

    • Choose Start of the navigation path Current Status Next navigation step Properties and Operating Next navigation step Display Operating Actions End of the navigation path.

    • SAP NetWeaver 7.1: Choose Start of the navigation path Properties Next navigation step Display Operating Actions End of the navigation path.

If you want to see all the logs, not just the current ones, switch to the Operating Logs display.

These values are calculated again in the following cases:

  • You start transaction LC10.

  • You choose the Refresh button.

  • After the SAP liveCache is started, stopped or initialized.
