Importing and Updating Software ComponentsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Context

You can import locally stored software components (SCs) into your development configuration. Using the same wizard you can replace the content of already existing SCs in the development configuration.

Procedure

  1. In the Development Infrastructure perspective, open the context menu of the development configuration. Choose Import SC... .
  2. In the dialog that appears, specify the location of the SC you want to import.

If you are replacing the content of existing SCs in the development configuration, you can see compared some of the metadata of the target SC and the source SCs. This information can be of help, for example, if the target SC has a higher version.

    Choose Next .

  3. Back up the data of the SC and mark the corresponding confirmation checkboxes. Choose Next .
    Note

If you have local content or changes before importing the SC, and the import will delete everything in the target SC, you can restore the state that you had before the import manually only.

  4. You can review the development components that are inside the SC.

    Choose Finish .

If you are replacing the content of already existing SCs, you have to confirm that you know that the content of the target SC will be deleted and then replaced with the content of the new SC.
