Use

The Switch Framework Browser (transaction SFW_BROWSER) is a tool for displaying the status of all Business Functions and Business Function Sets in a system quickly and easily. All subordinate entities are listed here in a hierarchical tree structure and can be checked separately.

Objects

On the initial screen of the Switch Framework Browser you find a list of all available Business Function Sets. Next, all Business Functions are listed that are not assigned to a Business Function Set. By opening the node you can display the subordinate entities.

The traffic list icons in this column show if the entity is activated or deactivated at this time.

Off

The object is deactivated.

stand by

You can assign a switch to a Business Function so that the switch changes when the function is activated to status stand by which is then shown as a yellow traffic light. In this case the related Data Dictionary Objects should be activated, but the other components should not.

On

The object is activated.

Check Status

Using the Switch Framework Browser, you can execute checks of the Business Function Sets or Business Functions. After calling the Switch Framework Browser, the status of all objects of the list is first set to not checked.

Check of All Available Objects

If you use the Check icon from the menu bar, a check is started for all listed objects. The check procedure can take a long time depending on how many objects are contained in the list.

Selective Check of Individual Objects

You can check every single node under a Business Function Set or Business Function separately. To do this, select the Not Yet Checked icon of the Check Status table column in the relevant row of the object to be checked. After completing the check, a separate check status is displayed for each individual entity of the node that has been checked. The consistency of the individual nodes is passed upwards, that is, even if only a single object at the lowest level was found to contain errors, then all nodes that appear above it also appear in the list as containing errors. Therefore you should expand a node with errors and always start troubleshooting at the lowest level with errors that was checked. Next, check the node again to determine if the whole thing is now completely error-free or if there are any other errors.

The object has not yet been checked.

Consistent

The node is consistent and does not contain any subobjects with errors

Inconsistencies exist

Errors were found in this object, or in one or more objects below this object node.

Object has the wrong activation status

The activation status of the object has errors in its semantic relationship of the surrounding object node:

  • either

    the surrounding object node expects the object as active but it is currently inactive.

  • or

    the surrounding object node expects the object as inactive but it is currently active.

Filter and Search Functions

  • Using the search function offered in the menu, you can search for individual objects in the list.

  • Using the filter function you can reduce the list display to either all active functions or all checked functions with errors. Reselect the relevant menu entry in order either to delete it or the filter again.
