Use

You can use all the menu functions (in the main menu bar and in the object editors) by using the keyboard. You can also navigate in the navigation area by using a combination of keyboard commands.

Main Menu Bar

You can go to the main menu with the F10 key.

The keyboard supports the following navigation options in the menu:

  • Use of the cursor keys.

  • By pressing the Alt key, you go to a menu entry with the relevant mnemonic characters (underlined letters in the menu).

  • You can call some menu functions with a shortcut (control key in combination with a letter).

  • With the Return key you can call this function.

  • With the tabulator key you can navigate between elements that can be focused in the application toolbar.

Object Editors (Menu Bar)

You can access the object menu with the key combination (Alt + F10).

The keyboard supports the following navigation options in the object menu:

  • Use of the cursor keys.

  • By pressing the Alt key, you go to a menu entry with the relevant mnemonic characters (underlined letters in the menu).

  • You can call some menu functions with a shortcut (control key in combination with a letter).

  • With the Return key you can call this function.

  • With the tabulator key you can navigate between elements that can be focused in the application toolbar.

Object Editors (Work Area)

With the tabulator key you can navigate between elements that can be focused in the work area. You can leave tables with the key combination consisting of the control key and the tabulator key.

Navigation Area

The keyboard supports the following navigation options in the navigation area:

  • Use of the cursor keys.

    With the cursor keys for horizontal navigation (arrow to the right or left), you can expand or collapse a hierarchy node on which the cursor is placed.

  • With the return key you can open an object on which the cursor is placed.

  • You can focus on subtrees in the navigation area.

Note

In the personal settings you can define a focus on additional elements of the user interface, thus permitting them to be accessed from the keyboard.
