When you develop your composite application, you can set business object attributes of the type STRING to be language dependent. This way you can translate business data using an automated procedure. Translation process can be performed on different systems for translation and then the translated content is imported back into CAF backend.

An XLF file is imported in your application with the target language you chose in the previous step. Rename the file as follows: <name of the old file>_<target language>.xlf.
If you re-import a file you have already translated, a dialog pops up asking if you want to overwrite the file. To update the information in the file, choose OK. Then the existing and the newly imported files will be merged. If you change the file name a new file will be created with none of the old information.

The newly translated content is imported into the database after you deploy the application on the server. The application can be used in the translated language.
