Deleting Harmful Statistics with BR*Tools 

Use

You can use BR*Tools for Oracle to delete harmful database statistics.

Prerequisites

·        Make sure you have set the necessary BRCONNECT parameters in the initialization profile init<DBSID>.sap, because BRTOOLS uses these when it calls BRCONNECT.

·        The database must be open.

Procedure

...

       1.      Start BRGUI or BRTOOLS.

       2.      Choose Database statistics → Delete harmful statistics.

       3.      Set the required options:

Force options (force)	-f stats -f|-force
Extended output (output)	-o|-output
Message language (language)	-l|-language
BRCONNECT command line (command)	This shows you the BRCONNECT -f stats –t harmful -d command that is to be executed using the current settings.

       4.      To start processing with the selected options, choose Continue.

       5.      Check the results in the BRCONNECT logs.

¡        The summary log conn<DBSID>.logdisplays the return code.

¡        The detail log  c<encoded timestamp>.dst displays the progress.
