Use

When you call up a personal worklist for a specific target language in transaction SE63, the system sets a reservation number for the language direction. Depending on your authorizations, you can then restrict the data area from which you want to access objects. You have the following access options:

..

·        Standard worklist

·        Worklist pool

·        Object list

·        Transport request

The access options determine the data area from which objects are included in the worklist. They also determine the degree to which the language settings, collection assignments, individual locks, and existing object reservations entered in transaction LXE_MASTER are taken into account when objects are accessed.

Accessing objects using the standard worklist

If you call up a personal worklist using the standard worklist option, you can only access objects if they have been evaluated, if the collections to which the objects belong are assigned to your user, and if no other translator has reserved the objects in his or her personal worklist.

Accessing objects using the worklist pool

If you call up a worklist using the worklist pool option, you can access any objects from collections that have been evaluated, irrespective of whether the collections are assigned to you or whether another translator has already reserved the objects in his or her personal worklist.

Accessing objects using an object list

If you call up a worklist using the object list option, you can access objects from collections for which an object list has been created in transaction LXE_MASTER, irrespective of whether the object list has been evaluated, or whether the collections are assigned to you, or whether another translator has already reserved the objects in his or her personal worklist. Your authorizations determine whether you can access objects from collections in any object list in the system, or just those objects from collections in a specific object list that your coordinator has assigned to you. It is also possible for the language settings in transaction LXE_MASTER, such as object types and locks for individual objects (object exceptions), to be ignored or taken into account when objects are accessed.

Accessing objects using a transport request (piece list)

If you call up a worklist using the transport request option, you can access objects from collections for which a transport request/piece list exists in the system, irrespective of whether the transport request has been evaluated, or whether the collections are assigned to you, or whether another translator has already reserved the objects in his or her personal worklist. Your authorizations determine whether you can access objects from collections in any transport request in the system, or just those objects from collections in a specific transport request that your coordinator has assigned to you. It is also possible for the language settings in transaction LXE_MASTER, such as object types and locks for individual objects (object exceptions), to be ignored or taken into account when objects are accessed.

Prerequisites

Accessing objects using the standard worklist

You are defined as a translator for the target language. An object list has been created and evaluated. Collections from this worklist have been assigned to you for translation. Your translator profile has authorization object TRW1 with the value 01.

Accessing objects using a worklist pool

You are defined as a translator for the target language. An object list has been created and evaluated. Your translator profile has authorization object TRW3 with the value 01. If you want to call up collections that are not assigned to you, you also need authorization object COSE with the value 01.

Accessing objects using an object list

You are defined as a translator for the target language. An object list has been created. If you want to select collections that are not assigned to you, your user has authorization object COSE with the value 01. Your translator profile has authorization object TRW2 with one of the following values:

01   You can only access objects from collections in object lists released for you by your coordinator.

02   You can access objects from collections in any object list, but are subject to language checks.

03   You can access objects from collections in any object list, and circumvent the language checks if you are not subject to any restrictions when selecting object lists, and want to ignore the checks.

Accessing objects using a transport request (piece list)

You are defined as a translator for the target language. A transport request has been created. If you want to select collections that are not assigned to you, your user has authorization object COSE with the value 01. Your translator profile has authorization object TRW4 with one of the following values:

01   You can only access objects from collections in transport requests released for you by your coordinator.

02   You can access objects from collections in any transport request, but are subject to language checks.

03   You can access objects from collections in any transport request, and circumvent the language checks if you are not subject to any restrictions when selecting transport requests, and want to ignore the checks.

Procedure

...

...

       1.      Call transaction SE63.

       2.      Choose Worklist Standard.

The My Worklist: Parameters dialog box is displayed.

       3.      Select your source and target languages, and enter the worklist number.

       4.      If you want to reset an existing personal worklist and/or a reservation number for accessing a personal worklist, select the Reset Worklist / Reservation checkbox.

       5.      Choose Copy (Enter).

The Get Worklist dialog box is displayed. A reservation number for accessing a personal worklist is created for your user.

       6.      Depending on how you want to access your personal worklist, proceed as follows:

Accessing a standard worklist

...

...

...

       1.      Select the Standard Worklist tab page.

Your user name, source and target languages, reservation number, and worklist number are displayed.

       2.      If you want to call up a personal worklist for a selection of collections that are assigned to you, select the collections. Otherwise, leave the default collections as they are.

       3.      If you only want a personal worklist for specific domains, choose the pushbutton next to Domains. In the dialog box that is now displayed, select the domains that you require.

       4.      If you only want a personal worklist for specific object types, choose the pushbutton next to Object Types. In the dialog box that is now displayed, select the object types that you require.

       5.      If you want to call up a specific object, enter the name of the object in the Object Name field.

Caution

This function executes a generic search throughout the entire system, and is very performance-intensive. If possible, you should access specific objects directly using the object type.

       6.      Use the Number per Object Type field to specify the number of objects to be included in your personal worklist for each object type.

Note

If you call up a personal worklist with a large number of objects per object type for collections that are assigned to more than one translator for the same target language, this reduces the number of objects that your colleagues can include in their personal worklists. You are therefore advised to reduce the number of objects per object type to the number that you can translate on one day. Note that if you enter 25 in the Number per Object Type field in a system that contains 150 object types, you could then reserve up to 3750 objects in your worklist.

       7.      To reserve objects with new lines in your personal worklist, select the New checkbox. The Modified and Translated checkboxes enable you to reserve objects in your personal worklist that contain modified and/or translated lines.

       8.      If you want to call up related objects, select the Related Objects checkbox. Objects that are related to each other are then reserved in your personal worklist, such as the interface texts, Screen Painter texts, and text elements for the program SAPLPROG.

Caution

The number of related objects found by the system is influenced directly by the number of objects you specify in the Number per Object Type field. If you want to use this function, you are therefore advised to enter a low value (such as 1) in the Number per Object Type field.

       9.      Choose Reserve Objects.

Accessing a personal worklist using the worklist pool

...

...

       1.      Select the Worklist Pool tab page.

       2.      Follow the instructions in steps 2 to 8 under Accessing a standard worklist.

       3.      Choose Load Objects.

Accessing a personal worklist using an object list

...

...

       1.      Select the Object List tab page.

Your source and target languages are displayed.

       2.      Use the Object List field to specify the object list from which you want objects to be included in your personal worklist. Depending on your authorizations, you can select any object list or just the object list that your translation coordinator has released for you.

       3.      If you are authorized to disable all filters when calling up your personal worklist and want to do so, select Deactivate Selection. All of the objects in the object list are then included in your personal worklist, irrespective of whether they belong to the collections assigned to you, or whether their object type is translated into the selected target language, or whether the object in question has been locked. The checkbox therefore deactivates all of the selections that you can make using Collections, Domains, and Object Types.

       4.      Use the Collections, Domains, Object Types, and Object Name selection options as described in the Accessing a standard worklist section.

       5.      If you want to translate objects into their original language, select the Deactivate Original Language Check checkbox.

       6.      If you want to access objects belonging to object types that are not translated into your target language, select the Deactivate Language Settings checkbox.

       7.      If you want to calculate session-bound top texts, select the Calculate Top Texts checkbox.

       8.      Choose Load Objects.

       9.      If you want the system to generate top texts, the Choose Frequency Limit dialog box is displayed. It tells you the frequency with which source texts occur in the data area you defined for the worklist, and the number of objects to which this frequency applies. Select the frequency as of which you want to process session-bound top texts in your personal worklist.

Accessing a personal worklist using a transport request (piece list)

...

...

       1.      Choose the Transport Request tab page.

       2.      In the Transport Request field, enter the name of your transport request or piece list. Alternatively, enter the transport request of a specific object in the Transport Object fields.

       3.      Proceed as described in the Accessing a worklist using an object list section.

Result

Objects are included in your personal worklist in accordance with your settings. The worklist window is opened.
