Shared Objects - Areas 

An area is a repository object for storing shared objects. It is the template for area instance versions in the shared memory. Each area is assigned an area class with the same name and an area root class. Areas are created and managed using Transaction SHMA. Different properties can be assigned to an area in Transaction SHMA.
