Procedure documentation Translating Transport Objects  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

Transport objects enable you to call up and translate all of the texts in a transport request directly, without having to know the object types or technical names of the objects to be translated.

Simply enter the name of the transport entry of the object as it appears in the transport request. A personal worklist is called up that contains the objects to be translated.

Translating Objects Directly

Prerequisites

You can only translate objects via transport objects if you have exact information on the transport entry.

Procedure

Call...

       1.      Call up transaction SE63.

       2.      Enter text type shortcut t in the command field.

       3.      Enter the transport entry of the object. Example:

R3TR DTEL ZZ_ORDER

       4.      Check that the source and target languages are correct, and choose Edit.

Result

The Worklist: List dialog box is displayed. The objects in the transport request are listed in a temporary worklist.

You can see the translation status of each object (number of total lines, new lines, modified lines, and translated lines) to the right of each object name.

You can edit the objects in this temporary worklist in exactly the same way as in a standard personal worklist. For more information, see Translating Objects via a Personal Worklist.

Example

A developer asks you to translate all of the texts in the objects for transport entry R3TR PROG ZZ_CREATE_DOCUMENT. He/she cannot tell you which screens are associated with this program, but needs the translation as soon as possible.

...

       1.      Call up transaction SE63, and enter t in the command field.

       2.      In the three input fields for the transport entry of object, enter R3TR PROG and ZZ_CREATE_DOCUMENT.

       3.      Check that the source and target languages are correct, and choose Edit.

The Worklist: List dialog box is displayed. You can now translate the text elements, interface texts, Screen Painter texts, etc. that belong to the transport entry and contain at least one text line. The objects with red and yellow lines contain the text lines you need to process.
