Use

In order to enable translation in an SAP System, you need to set up the translation environment.

You maintain the translation environment in transactions SLWA and SLWB.

Prerequisites

Before you start maintaining the translation environment in the system, you should do the following:

·          Provide or extend system resources.

·          Perform administrative measures and preparation.

You should also maintain priorities for the translation planner in transaction SLWB:

Maintaining Priorities

Maintaining a Server

After you have maintained priorities and a default host, you continue maintaining the translation environment in transaction SLWA.

You need to proceed as follows:

·          Defining the Translation Environment. This includes the following steps:

·         Setting Up the Target Language, the source language and the translation client

·         Maintaining the Secondary Language Status

·         Adding the Translation Client

·         Maintaining the Translation Graphs

·         Maintaining Object Groups for Translation

·         Setting up translators in the system and assigning them a status, see Translator Setup

·         Assigning development classes to translators, see Development Class Assignment

·         Setting Object Types for Automatic Distribution.

After you have finished maintaining the translation environment in SLWA, you will need to run various programs in order to create evaluations of objects for translation.

For this purpose, you use the translation planner in transaction SLWB to perform the following steps:

·          Schedule and execute the initial runs

·          Schedule and execute the evaluation runs

Please remember that the respective codepage must be set on at least one application server for each language involved in the translation process.  This language must be entered in the system profile of this server.
