You can create the following types of proposal in the proposal pool:
For information on how to access the proposal pool, see Accessing the Proposal Pool.
You can only create application standards and exceptions for the following domains:
· The domain of the object you are currently translating, if you accessed the proposal pool from the short text editor.
· Domains for which at least one domain-specific proposal (application standard or exception) already exists.
· All other domains must be created in the proposal pool first. To do this, choose the Show Domain icon.
...
1. Ensure that the text you want to create as a proposal is highlighted at the top of the proposal pool screen.
¡ If you branched to the proposal pool from the short text editor, you must have entered the text you want to create as a proposal in the translation line.
¡ If you accessed the proposal pool via transaction SLPP, you must have entered the text you want to create as a proposal in the text field in the Target group box.
¡
If you want to
change the text highlighted at the top of the proposal pool, click the icon next to it. Enter the new text in the
dialog box that is now displayed.
2.
In the proposal
pool, choose the icon next to the type of proposal you want to
create. Example:
¡
To create a system
standard, choose next to Standard under
System.
¡
To create an
application standard, choose next
to Standard under the node of the domain in question. For example, to
create an application standard for the domain Materials Management (MM)
for ABAP short texts, choose
next
to Standard under MM R MM.
¡
If you want to
create an application standard for a domain that is not yet listed, choose the
icon and then select the domain that you
require.
¡
To create an
exception, choose next
to Exception under the node of the domain in question.
¡ To create an abbreviation, see Creating Abbreviations and Full Translations for more information.
If you are creating a system standard, application standard, or abbreviation, the dialog box Select Status appears.
3. Double-click the quality status you want to assign to the proposal.
You can create system standards with their quality status in a single step. Depending on the required quality status, choose the Status A, Status S, Status B, or Status X pushbutton. Alternatively, you can use the following key combinations: CTRL + F1, CTRL + F2, CTRL + F3, and CTRL + F4.
If you are creating an exception, no further action is required.
The system creates the text highlighted at the top of the proposal pool screen as a proposal, with the quality status that you specified. The type of proposal depends on which icon you chose.
You do not need to choose Save, because the system saves your changes automatically. You can now return to the short text editor or the initial screen of transaction SLPP by choosing Back.
To create further
translations as proposals for the source text, choose the icon
next to the currently highlighted translation at the top of the screen, and
enter a new translation in the dialog box that appears. Proceed as described
above. You are advised to keep the number of proposals per source text to a
minimum. This optimizes performance, and ensures consistent
translations.
