Personalization of the Areas of
Responsibility 
To gain a quick overview of their area of responsibility, users need to run reports that display the exact data for that area of responsibility (cost centers or profit centers). This is achieved by means of personalization.
There are a number of options that allow you to personalize areas of responsibility:
· Personalization using BI authorizations
This procedure ensures that a user only sees report data for the particular section of the cost center or profit center hierarchy for which the user has authorization. You can create such authorizations manually or extract from the source system the assignments between users and organizational units and generate the authorizations from these assignments. The user's BI authorizations are then analyzed using SAP exit variables.

Manual 
personalization in the
Business Explorer
When a BI report is executed for the first time, the entries in the entry screen can be saved as a personalization setting in the Business Explorer.
· Personalization in the Business Explorer using extraction
For the characteristics 0COSTCENTER and 0PROFIT_CTR, you can use extractors to extract user/cost center assignments or user/profit center assignments from various sources within the ERP system. The following DataSources are available:

Cost Centers from HR

Assignment of Users to
Cost Centers from User Parameters

The system determines the areas of responsibility from these assignments and loads them into DataStore object 0PERS_VAR. In this way, users no longer have to enter the area of responsibility. They can, however, change the area of responsibility in the entry screen on a BI report.
