Data Field Assignment Maintenance

You use this activity to assign data fields to collect information during manufacturing process (see Data Field Definition and Assignment).

Prerequisites

You have defined data fields in Data Field Definition Maintenance (see Data Field Definition Maintenance).

Rules

The following table describes rules and settings you can change for this activity in Activity Maintenance:

Rule	Description
`SEQ_INCREMENT`	Automatically increments the next sequence number based on the setting value The first value is the value to start the sequence and the second value indicates what to increment the sequence by. The default value is 010, 010.

Fields

The following table describes fields requiring explanation:

Category	Defines where in the manufacturing process the data is collected Assembly: Displays defined fields for data type that have been assigned in Material Maintenance or BOM Maintenance when operator does the following: Adds or removes components to or from assemblies Adds materials to floor stock or maintains them Configures/loads/replenishes resource slots Places components on hold NC: Displays defined fields when an operator logs a nonconformance if a data type is assigned in NC Code Maintenance Packing Container: Displays defined fields for container data during packing if a data type is assigned in Container Maintenance Packing SFC: Displays defined fields for the SFC numbers being packed into a container during packing if a data type is assigned in Container Maintenance RMA SFC: Displays defined fields for RMA SFC numbers during creation of an RMA shop order if a data type is assigned in Shop Order Maintenance for shop orders of the RMA type RMA Shop Order: Displays defined fields during RMA shop order receipt if a data type is assigned in Shop Order Maintenance for shop orders of the RMA type SFC: Displays defined fields for SFC numbers in SFC Data Entry (see SFC Data Entry). Note that only one SFC data type can exist in a site.
Type	A group of data fields to be displayed for the selected category Note that this field is disabled and automatically set to the Default for SFC category.
Pre-Save Activity	Custom activity that runs to validate all data field entries in the group before saving the data
Sequence	The order in which the system displays defined fields. The system automatically generates the sequence numbers based on the settings defined for the `SEQ_INCREMENT` activity rule. Note You can change the automatically generated sequence number in Data Field Assignment Maintenance. The sequence value must be a whole number. End of the note.
Data Field	The data field for which you want to collect information. Browse to display available data fields.
Details	Opens the Details screen for the selected data field which displays data field settings defined in Data Field Definition Maintenance
Required	If selected, user must enter a value in the field before saving the values in production activities.
