You use this activity to view and utilize a graphical model while performing manufacturing operations on an SFC number selected in the POD with the Model Viewer (see Visual Test and Repair (VTR)).

You can click on an element of the model to select it. The selected element changes its color. You can also select an element from the list of elements in the model. For more information about the Model Viewer functionality, see Viewer User Interface and Working with the Viewer at   http://help.sap.com/   SAP Product Lifecycle Management   SAP PLM as Part of SAP ERP Central Component   SAP PLM as Part of SAP Enhancement Package 6 for SAP ERP   Application Help   Web User Interface of SAP Product Lifecycle Management (PLM-WUI)   Tools on the PLM Web UI   Viewer  .

When you work with Visual Test and Repair, you can select several SFC numbers in the POD, if these SFC numbers have the same material defined.

You log a nonconformance against the physical component of the material, associated with the model element you select, in Visual Test and Repair.

You can view the following types of models (drawings):

  • 3D solid model

  • ECAD 2D solid model:

    • PCA layout

    • Schematic

Rules

The following table describes rules and settings defined for this activity in Activity Maintenance:

Rule

Setting

PLUGIN_URL

Specifies the plug-in location in the SAP ME folder structure

Default value: /COM/SAP/ME/PRODUCTION/CLIENT/VTRVIEW.JSP

Caution Caution

Any changes to the PLUGIN_URL activity rule setting in Activity Maintenance may result in incorrect display of the plug-in in the POD.

End of the caution.
Fields

You view ECAD images using information panel and 2D/3D editor toolbar (see Information Panel and 2D/3D Editor Toolbar at   http://help.sap.com/   SAP Product Lifecycle Management   SAP PLM as Part of SAP ERP Central Component   SAP PLM as Part of SAP Enhancement Package 6 for SAP ERP   Application Help   Web User Interface of SAP Product Lifecycle Management (PLM-WUI)   Tools on the PLM Web UI   Viewer   Viewer User Interface  ).

For ECAD models, the information panel comprises the following:

  • Elements (see Elements)

  • Schematic sheets (see Schematic Sheets)

  • Layers

For ECAD models, layers are used to group ECAD objects by model element type and by physical layering of the PCA board. For example, there will typically be separate layers for the components on the top of the board and the components on the bottom of the board. The layers list is also used to control which layers are displayed. Flipping the board automatically adjusts which layers are displayed.

The following table describes fields shown in the 2D/3D editor toolbar for ECAD files:

Field

Description

Page Layout

Visualizes how images in the Model Viewer user interface will appear on a printed page

Zoom Window

Provides a best fit of the image in the Model Viewer user interface, or zooms a selected section of the scene

Full Screen

Alternates between a full screen and a window-sized display

Flip Board

Alternates between viewing the ECAD model from the top or from the bottom

World View

Displays a rectangle representing the current viewport view superimposed on a small image of the entire ECAD model at the bottom of the information panel

For more information, see ECAD Model View and ECAD Selections.

Integration

If the Visual Test and Repair activity is opened together with Log NC (NC Data Entry), the data component from the model element you select in Visual Test and Repair is automatically placed into mapped data type fields in NC Data Entry (see Log NC (NC Data Entry)).
