Maintaining Master Data for GTIN Mapping Locate this document in the navigation structure

Use

You use this procedure to maintain the master data for Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) mapping using one of the following operations:

  • Create master data

  • Change master data

  • Display master data

  • Create master data with template

Maintenance of the master data ensures that for every key field combination for a condition table and a condition type, there exists only one condition record that is valid on a specific date. Therefore, if you create a new record, which partially or completely overlaps an existing condition record, the system automatically overwrites or deletes the earlier record to resolve the overlap.

Prerequisites

The Customizing for GTIN Mapping is setup.

Procedure

To create the master data for GTIN mapping, follow the procedure below:

  1. Start the transaction EAN1 .

  2. In the Determination type field, enter a condition type, for example, G001.

  3. Choose Enter .

The system displays the screen where you can enter the master data for GTIN mapping.

  4. Enter data as follows:

    Note Note

By default, the system uses the displayed validity period. You can change it as required.

    • In the Valid From and Valid to fields, select the required dates.

    • In the EAN/UPC field, enter the GTIN.

    • In the table grid, enter data in the columns, as required. The Material field is mandatory.

    End of the note.
  5. Choose Save .

Result

The system stores the master data for GTIN mapping. You can now execute the following transactions, as required:

To change the master data, execute the transaction EAN2.

To display the master data, execute the transaction EAN3.

To create the master data using a template, execute the transaction EAN4. In this case, the system allows you to create new records by copying existing data for a validity period.
