Linear Barcode Scanning 
You can use this function to fill in one or more SAP ME fields by scanning linear barcodes. It works for any field where keyboard input is accepted.
Prerequisites
You have connected a linear barcode reader in parallel to the client PC's keyboard with a special cable.
Recommendation
Some linear barcode readers provide the capability to configure the barcode reader to append characters to the end of the alphanumeric string from the barcode.
Configure the barcode scanning device to append a “tab” character to the end of the barcode string. This minimizes user keystrokes in many situations.

Activities
When a shop floor operator chooses a SAP ME input field and scans a linear barcode, the alphanumeric string from the barcode appears in the field just as if it had been typed in via the keyboard.
