Use

The object overview displays the objects selected from the process, production or planned orders in hierarchical form. This enables you to recognize relationships between the individual objects, for example, component assignment to an operation or confirmation for an order header. (See Selecting and Deselecting Database Objects )

You define the structure of the object overview in an Overall Profile . You can define whether the system uses a layout-based or a profile-based display.

In the layout-based object overview, the objects are displayed on the left of the screen in a structure tree and the individual object lists are displayed on the right of the screen. The system displays the object overview in the SAP List Viewer(ALV). You see a structure tree and individual lists in which you can, for example, sort or filter data. (See SAP List Viewer (ALV) Grid Control (BC-SRV-ALV) )

In the profile-based object overview, you see the “classic” single-screen object overview (SAP List Tree).

Note Note

You can also go to the object overview from order processing (transaction CO01, CO02, CO03) as well as from the info system.

The object overview is also used by the archive display for production orders (report PPARCHR1) and process orders (report PRARCHR2).

End of the note.

Features

In the initial screen of the object overview, on the Object Selection tab page, you can define which objects are read and displayed, using the selection indicator. This selection cannot be changed afterwards in the object overview.

You can use the following functions to structure information in the object overview in the format that is most suitable for you.

Layout-Based Object Overview

In this display, you can show or hide the objects displayed in the structure tree and you can manipulate the data that is displayed in the individual list.

Structure Tree

The following options are available:

  • Show or Hide Objects in the Object Selection

On the initial screen, you can define which objects are displayed or hidden in the structure tree.

    Example Example

You have, for example, chosen all production orders to which a certain component is assigned. In this case, you may want to hide the objects sequence and operation , as they are of no interest to you.

    End of the example.

To hide objects in the structure tree, choose Hide for the objects in question on the Object Selection tab page, on the initial screen. (You can also show and hide objects in the object overview display. Choose   Settings   Object Selection.)

  • Display Selected Objects in Individual Lists

By selecting individual objects in the object overview in the structure tree, you can view their dependent objects in the individual lists.

In the structure tree, select one or more objects. Choose ( ) ( Limit Individual List ).

    Example Example

The system displays numerous orders in the structure tree. However, you want to look at only two particular sequences in the individual lists in more detail.

In the structure tee, you select only sequence 10 of the order 1000044 ( Ctrl + left mouse button ) and choose ( ) ( Limit Individual List ), to display the selected sequences of the individual list.

All data that has been displayed in the individual list so far is then hidden so that you only see objects that are assigned to sequence 10 (for example, operations and components).

If you subsequently refresh the list again or select the header nodes and choose ( ) ( Limit Individual List ), the system displays all objects again.

    End of the example.
  • Expand Structure Tree

If you select Expand for the object in question, on the Object Selection tab page of the initial screen, the system automatically expands the object overview to this object.

  • Refreshing the List

If you choose   List   Refresh   , the system carries out database selection again.

Individual List

In the individual lists you have the following options:

  • ALV Standard Functions (for example, hide fields or change the sequence)

You can use the layout to show or hide fields and to change the order in which the fields are displayed.

In the function bar of the individual list, choose ( ) ( Standard List Function On ), to display all available icons/functions.

In the expanded function bar of the individual list choose ( ) Choose Layout or Change Layout .Copy the relevant fields from the column set to the column selection.

    Example Example

For example, you have selected Operations. You either want to display the field Confirmed Time , or you want to put it at the beginning of the line rather than at the end.

    End of the example.
  • Turn Full Screen On or Off

You can also display an individual list in full screen mode. The system then displays only one individual list; the structure tree and the other individual lists are hidden. Choose ( ) ( Full Screen On/Off ), so that only one individual list is displayed.

If you choose the icon ( ) ( Full Screen On/Off ) in the full screen, the system displays the original screen again, including the structure tree and, if applicable, multiple individual lists.

  • Hide or Show Individual Lists

You can hide or show individual lists. Choose   Settings   Individual List Selection.

Select the corresponding objects (for example, production resources/tools and capacities) and adopt them as the lists that you want to see.

  • Close Individual Lists

To hide an individual list, choose ( ) ( Close ).

  • Change object

You can change certain objects directly, such as orders, sales orders, materials or document links. Position the cursor on the fields in question and choose ( ) ( Change ).

Profile-Based Object Overview

The following functions allow you to structure the information in a way which best suits your requirements.

The following options are available:

  • Show or Hide Objects in the Object Selection

You can define which objects should be displayed or hidden.

    Example Example

You have, for example, chosen all production orders to which a certain component is assigned. In this case, you may want to hide the objects sequence and operation , as they are of no interest to you.

    End of the example.

To hide objects, choose Hide for the objects in question on the Object Selection tab page, on the initial screen. (You can also show and hide objects in the object overview display. Choose   Settings   Object Selection.)

  • Display certain fields or change the sequence

You can define which fields are displayed and in which order.

To change the selection of fields that are displayed or to change the sequence in which they are displayed for Operations , choose ( ) Fields .

Copy the fields that you want to display from the field selection to the selection and change the sequence if necessary.

    Example Example

For example, you have selected Operations. You either want to display the field Confirmed Time , or you want to put it at the beginning of the line rather than at the end.

    End of the example.
  • Refreshing the List

When you branch to process, production or planned orders within the list to carry out business transactions (such as order/operation releases, availability checks and so on), you can update the list afterwards:

    • A complete refresh will update all production orders in the list (choose ( ) Refresh List ).

    • If you have only changed a small number of orders in the list, you may only want to refresh the orders that have changed, as this would reduce the system load. Select the relevant objects and choose ( ) Refresh List .

No new selection is executed when you refresh. Filters are reused.

Activities

  1. To call the object overview choose

    • For the production order :   Logistics   Production   Shop Floor Control   Information System   Production Order Information System

    • For the process order :   Logistics   Production - Process   Process Order   Reporting   Order Information System   Process Order Information System

  2. Choose the entry Object Overview in the List field.

  3. Choose an overall profile and select planned orders.

If you also select planned orders, Order headers and Components are the only objects that can be selected.

The setting for the selection of process, production or planned orders is copied from the overall profile and can be changed as required.

The settings for object selection are copied from the profile. You can change the settings on the Object selection tab page.

    Note Note

If you use a layout-based display, the individual lists are only issued in the object overview if you have entered a value greater than zero for the item in the object selection.

If you specify an item number for multiple individual lists, the lists are sorted and displayed according to item number.

If you do not specify an item, the system does not issue an individual list, even if the selection indicator for the object in question has been selected.

The selected objects are selected from the database but are not displayed.

    End of the note.

    Caution Caution

Only select those objects that you want to display. The less data requested from the system, the quicker it can be provided. If, for example, you select components and operations in addition to order headers, as a rule, the volume of data multiplies.

    End of the caution.
  4. Enter your selection criteria.

    Note Note

To make execution easier, you can define variants for the selection program PPIO_ENTRY (see Definition of Variants ). This enables you to hide unnecessary selection criteria.

    End of the note.
  5. Choose ( ) ( Execute ).

If you choose   Program   Execute in Background   (F9) on the initial screen of the object overview, the system creates a spool order for the structure tree and for every individual list.
