Scheduling types are defined in Customizing (Customizing for Shop Floor Control by choosing   Operations   Scheduling   Define Scheduling Type   ). The following scheduling types are predefined for production orders:

  • Forward scheduling

With this scheduling type the system schedules forwards starting from the basic start date or the scheduled start date of the order.

  • Backward scheduling

With this scheduling type the system schedules backwards starting from the basic finish date or scheduled finish of the order.

  • Today scheduling

With this scheduling type the system uses today’s date as the basic start date and schedules forwards.

  • Only capacity requirements

Only the capacity requirements are calculated with this scheduling type. The individual operations are not scheduled. The system copies the basic dates to the scheduled dates. These dates are copied as the operation dates.
