You use this activity to enter values for data parameters and user-defined fields associated with DC groups for SFC numbers, resources, or work centers.

Note that this plug-in can process DC groups only with the status of Releasable or Frozen.

The Data Collection Entry plug-in can be configured to collect data on choosing the DC Collect button in the DC Group List list (see DC Group List), or on Start, Complete, or at any time.

Prerequisites
  • You have reviewed or defined lists for the DC_COLLECT category in List Maintenance (see List Maintenance).

  • You have reviewed or specified DC Collect List to be used in the POD on the Options tab page of POD Maintenance (see POD Maintenance).

Rules

The following table describes rules and settings that you can change for this activity in Activity Maintenance:

Setting

ENFORCE_GROUP_MODE

Controls the behavior when a DC group of the selected SFC number has the Manual – Multiple collection method but the SFC numbers do not meet the criteria for the Manual – Multiple mode

YES: Displays an error message

NO (default): The Manual – Single mode is used for the DC group

LOGNC_ID_ON_GROUP_FAILURE

NONE or blank (default): The system does not open the Log NC plug-in when a DC group fails

NC_DATA_ENTRY: The system opens the Log NC (NC_DATA_ENTRY) activity when DC group fails

PLUGIN_URL

Specifies the plug-in location in the SAP ME folder structure

Default value: /COM/SAP/ME/DATACOLLECTION/CLIENT/DATACOLLECTIONENTRYPLUGIN.JSP

Caution Caution

Any changes to the PLUGIN_URL activity rule setting in Activity Maintenance may result in incorrect display of the plug-in in the POD.

PROCESS_ALL_DC_GROUPS

TRUE (default): If only one SFC number is selected, the system simultaneously displays all DC groups that are to collect data for the SFC number at this attachment point

FALSE: The system displays DC groups one at a time to collect data for the SFC number at this attachment point

SHOW_APPLY_TO_ALL

Controls whether the Apply to All SFCs checkbox is visible when you collect data in the Manual-Multiple mode

YES (default): The Apply to all SFCs checkbox is visible. You may deselect the checkbox to switch from the Manual – Multiple mode to the Manual-Single mode.

NO: The Apply to all SFCs checkbox is not visible and you must collect data in the Manual-Multiple mode.

Data Collection Modes

Mode

Description

Manual-Multiple

Data is collected once to be copied to all selected SFC numbers.

Manual-Single

Data is collected separately for each SFC number.

After Data Collection opens in the Manual-Multiple mode, you can deselect the Apply to All SFCs checkbox to switch to Manual-Single mode.

Data Collection automatically switches to this mode after the data has been collected for all DC groups in the Manual-Multiple mode.

Field

Description

Apply to All SFCs

If selected, entered data values are used for all selected SFC numbers.

Note that once deselected, this checkbox cannot be selected again.

Integration

The system includes several hook point activities you can use when working with data collection.

You can do the following:

  • Check all operations on the routing up to the current operation to verify if all data collected for the current SFC number is within the defined Min/Max thresholds (see Data Collection Limits Check)
