You can settle results analysis data to Profitability Analysis (CO-PA).
To be able to settle variances to CO-PA, you must carry out the following steps in Customizing for Controlling under
:Make sure that an operating concern is defined.
Make sure that characteristics (such as material, customer, and division) and value fields (such as input price variances and input quantity variances) have been entered in this operating concern.
To make sure that the results of the standard cost estimate are transferred to CO-PA, you must also carry out the following steps:
Go into Customizing for Controlling under
:Specify which cost estimate is to be used as a basis for material valuation in Profitability Analysis under
.Specify how the system should select a product cost estimate by choosing
. If you are using a valuated sales order stock and calculate the standard price using a sales order cost estimate, select the indicator Transfer sales order cost estimate .Assign a cost component structure to the operating concern by going to
. Then assign a value field to each cost component.Link the costing selection key that you defined under Define Keys for Accessing Material Cost Estimates to a material or material type. Choose
Assign costing keys to material types. Assign a costing key for each material or material type.In Customizing for Product Cost Controlling (CO-PC), make sure that:
The receiver profitability segment is allowed in the settlement profile
The Variances indicator is set in the settlement profile
An allocation structure is specified in the settlement profile
A PA transfer structure is specified in the settlement profile
A settlement structure is defined
A PA transfer structure is defined
The results analysis version is defined
You can only transfer data to Profitability Analysis that was updated to the sales order item under results analysis version 0.
For this reason you must make sure that a valuation method was selected for results analysis version 0 in your system that carries out results analysis for the sales order item using the relevant results analysis method.
The settlement cost elements are defined
The allocation structure has been created
The PA transfer structure has been created
If you are using the revenue-based or quantity-based results analysis method, you can settle the following results analysis data to Profitability Analysis by period:
Valuated actual revenue
Cost of sales
Reserves for imminent loss
Results analysis updates this data on the sales order item under results analysis cost elements. You must list the following results analysis cost elements in the PA transfer structure of the sales order item:
Cost elements for valuated revenues (for line IDs of category E)
Cost elements for cost of sales (for line IDs of categories K and D)
Cost elements for reserves for imminent loss (from the results analysis version)
You can use this data to perform the following calculation for each sales order item by period using cost-of-sales accounting:
Sales (revenue)
Cost of sales (calculated)
Reserves for imminent loss
Profit
If you perform results analysis using the POC method, you can settle the following results analysis data to Profitability Analysis for each sales order item by period:
Calculated revenues (sales)
Actual costs
Reserves for imminent loss
Results analysis updates this data on the sales order item under results analysis cost elements. You must list the following results analysis cost elements in the PA transfer structure of the sales order item:
Cost element for the calculated revenue (from the results analysis version)
Cost element for the valuated actual costs (from the results analysis version)
Cost element for the reserves for imminent loss (from the results analysis version)
You can use this data to perform the following calculation for each sales order item by period using cost-of-sales accounting:
Sales (calculated revenue)
Cost of sales (actual costs)
Reserves for imminent loss
Profit
