You use this activity to create fields that appear in maintenance activities on the Custom Data tab page to provide additional information when defining master data (see Custom Data).
To create custom data fields, proceed as follows:
On the Custom Data Maintenance screen, specify the maintenance activity to which you want to add custom data fields.
Add one or more custom data fields by inserting new rows in the table.
Note
The Data Field entries must be all CAPS and contain no spaces. For example, CUSTOM_DATA.
If custom data has been defined for the global site for a given category (for example, BOM), then creating site-specific custom data for that given category is not permitted by the system. Likewise, if site-specific custom data has been defined for a category, then creating custom data for the global site is not allowed.
