Once you have performed results analysis, you can manually change the results analysis data calculated by the system. This manual change to the results analysis data is often used in the construction industry.
Before you perform results analysis, you must select the Manual processing only indicator.
You use the Manual results analysis indicator in the Expert Mode of the respective valuation method to specify how the system is to process the manually entered date. You can change the data in two different ways:
Manual change (indicator E)
Manual addition (indicator Z)
The Only periodic indicator in the Expert Mode of the valuation method allows you to specify that changes are only possible when viewing the results analysis data by period.
You can view the results analysis data from the log screen. The system shows the values calculated automatically according to results analysis category and, in some cases, as line IDs. This results analysis data is cumulative – it reflects the values for the entire life of the sales order item. You can also view results analysis data by period.
You can change results analysis data in both displays. The system treats the changes differently according to the display in which you make them. The Only periodic indicator in the valuation method allows you to specify that changes are only possible when viewing the values by period.
Example
You entered the following reserves for a sales order item manually:
Period 1: USD 100: (cumulated USD 100)
Period 2: USD 50: (cumulated USD 150)
Period 3: USD 50: (cumulated USD 200)
You want to add USD 10 to the second period.

The business transaction for manual results analysis is KABM. The business transaction for automatic results analysis is KABG. The values entered manually and the values calculated automatically in results analysis are updated under the same cost elements. In the information system, you can define a cost element report that differentiates the values created manually and automatically according to the business transaction.
If you used the Manual results analysis indicator in the valuation method to specify that you want to carry out manual results analysis (indicator E), the manual changes in the closed periods and in the first open period are reversed.
Example
Results analysis is carried out for period 3. In the first case, the cutoff period is the first period. The value calculated automatically is changed by USD 10 in the second period.
In the second case, the cutoff period is the second period. In the third period, the manual value from the second period is deducted from the value that the system calculates for the third period.
