This group of rules controls the following nonconformity options.

System Rule

Description

Bypass Previous NC Routings on Return

If set to true, nonconformance disposition with return steps sends the SFC number to the step on the last production routing that the SFC number was traversing

Can override at: site

Generate and Lookup Vertical Ref Numbers

true (default): Automatically generates a vertical reference number based on the next number pattern and looks up vertical reference numbers when nonconformance records are logged

false: Does not generate a vertical reference number or look up vertical reference numbers when nonconformance records are logged

Generate Horizontal Ref Numbers

If set to true (default), automatically generates horizontal reference numbers based on the next number pattern when nonconformance records are logged

Can override at: site

Maximum Loop Count

The number of times an SFC number can be processed through an operation

Default: 0, which corresponds to no limit

Can override at: site, operation, routing step

NC Allows Non-BOM Component and Ref Des

If set to true (default), allows operators to log nonconformances against components and reference designators that are not in the BOM for the SFC numbers

Can override at: site, material

Related rule: Allow Non-BOM Components on Add (see Component Traceability Rules)

NC Allows Undefined Component

If set to true (default), allows operators to log nonconformances against components that have not been defined as a material

Can override at: site, material

NC Closure Required Default

Sets the default value for the existing Closure Required setting in NC Code Maintenance

true (default): Requires the operator to close this nonconformance (NC) code if the system does not automatically close it

false: Allows operators to leave this NC code open

Use Global Setting: Sets the value specified for global site

NC Unassembled BOM Components

If set to true, allows operators or machines to log nonconformances against unassembled components

Can override at: site

Use NC Groups for Production Clients

true (default): Uses nonconformance (NC) groups for Nonconformance clients. You create NC groups in NC Group Maintenance.

false: Ignores NC groups during the nonconformance process.
