Inspection Points Locate this document in the navigation structure

You plan inspections that accompany production, in a routing with reference to the operation that is affected. If several individual inspections are to be carried out during the operation, you can use inspection points to add more detail.

Inspection points are freely defined reference objects for entering inspection results below operation level. To define inspection points you use one of the following references:

  • Quantity (for instance, container)

  • Time (for instance, date and time of day)

  • Freely definable event

With time-related intervals you can define whether only one quantity is entered per partial lot, or whether the quantities of the individual inspection points are added together.

Entries in Routings

In the routing header you decide,

  • Whether you want to use inspection points

  • Which field combinations and therefore which reference you use to define the inspection points (for instance, container and shift )

  • Whether you want to combine product quantities for partial lots and batches

Note Note

If you do not enter any data for field combinations and partial lot assignment the Customizing settings for quality management apply.

End of the note.

For each respective step in the operations for the routing you define,

  • What the inspection interval should be between the inspection points (for instance, 10 minutes or 3 containers)

  • How the quantity should be entered with time-related intervals

  • Whether the last partial lot assignment, which is therefore relevant to goods receipt, takes place during results recording (optional)

You can transfer the quantity of the last partial lot to inventory management via order confirmation, where it is used as a default value for goods receipt.
