You use this activity to view and process messages that meet the selection criteria.

By default, the list displays all the New, Claimed, and In Queue messages sorted by message severity (Critical, Warning, and Info).

Rules

The following table describes rules and settings defined for this activity in Activity Maintenance:

PLUGIN_URL

Specifies the plug-in location in the SAP ME folder structure

Default value: /COM/SAP/ME/MESSAGING/CLIENT/MESSAGEBOARDLIST.JSP

Caution Caution

Any changes to the PLUGIN_URL activity rule setting in Activity Maintenance may result in incorrect display of the plug-in in the POD.

Fields

The following tables describe fields requiring explanation:

Messages

Field

Description

Status

The status of the message

  • New: The message has not had any user action performed on it.

  • Claimed: The message is being processed by a user. Only the user who claimed the message can process it.

  • In Queue: The message has been claimed and then unclaimed, or transferred to another user group.

  • Revoked: The message has been closed because the user who claimed it could not perform the associated task; no further processing can be done.

  • Withdrawn: The message has been closed because the user who created it has withdrawn it.

  • Closed: The message has been closed and the associated workflow tasks have been performed.

Withdraw

Cancels a message when it is no longer needed

Note Note

Only the user who created the message can withdraw it.

Claim

Indicates that you are going to process the selected message; prevents other users from processing it

Unclaim

Indicates that you are not going to process the selected message; allows any other user to claim and process it.

When a message is unclaimed, its status changes to In Queue.

Revoke

Similar to withdraw

This action is used when the message is not needed or when the message cannot be processed to completion.

Transfer

Moves the selected message to another user group

This is used when a message was sent to the incorrect user group, or the user group cannot process the message.

When a message is transferred, its status changes to In Queue.

Comment

Adds processing comments to a message

Added comments appear in the Message Log area on the Details screen.

Close Message

Allows you to close messages of the FREE_FORM and SIMPLE_MESSAGE types, for example, to acknowledge receipt and viewing of the message

Date and time when a comment was added to the message in the Comment dialog box

Action

An action that an operator performed

User

The operator who performed the action

Log Codes

The Message Details button action used for messages that require logging of Cause, Resolution, and Corrective Action codes (see Log Codes)

Accept

Returns to the Message Board POD and closes the message

Reject

Launches the Log NC Reject activity (see Reject Buyoff and Log NC Reject)
