You use this activity to add material during the assembly of a product outside of a POD and to remove/replace one or more components from/in an assembly (see Removing, Replacing, and Adding Components and Assembly Point)
This activity validates the location, reservation, and time-sensitive key attributes before the material can be consumed by an SFC number (see Material and SFC Number). It supports the consumption of serialized or non-serialized components.
The following table describes rules and settings that you can change for this activity in Activity Maintenance:
Rule |
Setting |
---|---|
ALLOW_DONE_SFC |
If set to TRUE, allows the user to modify SFC numbers that have the Done status |
ALLOW_NEW_SFC |
If set to TRUE, allows the user to modify SFC numbers that have the New status |
ALLOW_REMOVE_ALL |
If set to TRUE (default), displays the Remove All Assembled Components action on the Actions screen |
ALLOW_RETURN_COMPONENT |
If set to TRUE (default), displays a button allowing the user to return a component to floor stock when removing or replacing it |
ALLOW_SCRAP_COMPONENT |
If set to TRUE (default), displays a button allowing the user to scrap a component when removing or replacing it |
ALLOW_SEND_TO_ROUTER |
If set to TRUE (default), displays a button allowing the user to send a component to another routing when removing or replacing it |
DISPLAY_BARCODE |
If set to YES, displays the Barcode field on the Add, Remove, or Replace screen (see Two-Dimensional (2D) Barcode Scanning) |
EXPAND_DATA_UPON_RETRIEVE |
TRUE (default): Displays the assembly data component tree in an expanded view or displays all BOM Component and Actual Component assembled when the user retrieves SFC as built record FALSE: Displays the assembly data component tree in a collapsed view or only BOM component level when the user retrieves component information |
The following tables describe fields requiring explanation:
Field |
Description |
---|---|
Component State |
Displays only components with the specified state in the table Assembled & Unassembled: Displays both components that have been assembled onto an SFC number and components listed in the BOM that have not been assembled onto the SFC number All: Displays components with any state Assembled: Displays only components that have been assembled onto an SFC number Auto Assembled: Displays only assembled components that had an assembly operation and an assembly data type of none Removed: Displays only components that have been removed from an SFC number Unassembled: Displays only components listed in the BOM that have not been assembled onto an SFC number |
SFC |
The SFC number of the assembly |
Find Component |
Finds the component in the table by component name, reference designator, inventory ID, or SFC number |
Material/Vers. |
The material name and version of the SFC number |
Routing/Vers. |
The routing and version of the routing on which the SFC number is being processed |
Status |
The SFC number status |
BOM Component |
The name of the component specified in the BOM for the SFC number |
Operation |
The operation where the component was assembled For Unassembled components, indicates the assembly operation for the component specified in the SFC BOM |
Qty Required |
The quantity of the component specified in the BOM for the SFC number |
Qty Assembled |
The quantity of the component already added to the SFC number Note that when the component is a piece on a panel, Qty Required and Qty Assembled indicate quantities for the piece at the location displayed in the Location column |
Ref Des |
The component's reference designator as specified in the BOM |
Assembly Type |
Manual: The component was assembled by an operator who entered information about the component in the assembly point screen. Time-Based: The component was assembled by a resource through time-based component traceability (see Time-Based Genealogy). Auto: The component was automatically assembled by the system Alternate: The component assembled was an alternate to the primary BOM component. |
Actual Component |
The component assembled onto or removed from the SFC number Displayed as a link if the component has not been removed |
Add |
Displays the Add Component screen for the component selected in the table |
Remove |
Displays the Remove Component screen for the component selected in the table Note that component state cannot be Unassembled or Removed. |
Replace |
Displays the Remove Component screen for the component selected in the table Note that upon completion of the Remove Component screen, the system automatically displays the Add Component screen. |
Actions |
Displays the Actions screen |
Field |
Description |
---|---|
Component |
The component you are assembling onto the SFC number |
Location |
If the SFC number is a panel, specifies the location of the piece of the panel where you are adding the component |
Operation |
The operation at which the component is being assembled |
Resource |
The resource at which the component is being assembled |
Field |
Description |
---|---|
Usage Count |
The number of times this component has been assembled onto a parent assembly |
Qty to Remove |
The quantity of the actual component that the operator is to remove from the SFC number |
Remove Operation |
The operation at which the actual component is being removed |
Remove Resource |
The resource at which the actual component is being removed |
Scrap |
Scraps the component, making it unavailable for further use |
Return |
Returns the component inventory ID or SFC number to floor stock Caution Use only with a component that has an SFC number or an inventory ID End of the caution. |
Send to Routing |
Displays information about the component and a list specifying possible destinations for the removed component. Additional destinations may appear in another list when you make a selection. If you are unsure where to send a removed component, ask your supervisor. Caution Use only with a component that has an SFC number or an inventory ID. End of the caution. |
Field |
Description |
---|---|
Add Non-BOM Component |
Displays the Add Component screen, allowing you to enter information about a non-BOM component Note that this action is not displayed if the Allow Non-BOM Components on Add system rule is set to false. |
Expand All Folders |
Expands all folders in the component tree |
