Related data parameters whose measurements are gathered at the same time at the defined data collection point(s) of a manufacturing operation.
This grouping provides the ability to attach multiple related data parameters to one or more objects (such as material, operation, and resources) one time rather than attaching a data parameter separately to each object.
A DC group can be defined to collect data for product produced, a resource, or a work center. Data parameters for a DC group for a product can be collected at the start, complete, start and complete, or anytime during the manufacturing operation. Data parameters for a resource or a work center can be collected at any time via Standalone Data Collection (see Standalone Data Collection).
Multiple DC groups can be attached to the same object. Data parameters can be defined as required by the process. Each data parameter within a group also has its own characteristics that are used during the data collection process. Each data parameter can also have an SPC chart assigned and messages generated when SPC analysis is performed. A DC group can be defined to require user authentication before the collection of the data parameter values. This authentication assures that the employee has the correct permission or certification to enter the data values.
Another important feature of Data Collection is to define a DC group as a pass/fail group which causes an NC client to open automatically if all data parameter values fail validation.
DC group can have the following attributes:
Status
Collection Type
Collect Data At
Collection Method
User Authentication
Certification
Pass/Fail Group

If you use the SAPMEINT component, see Transfer of Batch and Batch Characteristic Data.
If you require the contents of a DC group to be sent through SAPMEINT, the ERP Group checkbox must be selected.
