You use this activity to create nonconformance clients.

A nonconformance client defines nonconformance options for operators who enter failure, defect, and repair information in the system. For more information, see NC Clients.

Integration

After you create a nonconformance client, you can use it in the POD (see Setting Up PODs for Nonconformance).

Fields

The following tables describe fields requiring explanation:

Main Tab

Field

Description

Incident Number

None: Disables the incident number feature

Manual: Allows the operator to enter a value in the Incident Number field in NC Data Entry

Automatic: Automatically populates a value in the Incident Number field in NC Data Entry according to the incident number pattern defined in Next Number Maintenance. Operators can change the incident number that the system automatically enters in that field.

Preload NC Fields

Specifies which NC code fields to preload from the primary NC code when you log a secondary NC code:

  • Both: Displays both Failure ID and Ref Des

  • None: Displays neither Failure ID nor Ref Des

  • Failure ID: Displays Failure ID

  • Ref Des: Displays Ref Des

Component Disposition Routing

Specifies the disposition routing where the system sends the removed component

VTR Model Location

If entered, overrides the VTR model location value that is specified in the VTR Model Location system rule.

Select Default NC Code

If selected, the system automatically selects the default NC code in the Available NC Codes list.

Display Combined Add-Done Button

If selected, the Add and Done button appears in Log NC (NC Data Entry) and Standalone NC Logging.

Do Disposition

If selected, the system automatically dispositions the nonconformed SFC numbers or process lot based on the NC code configuration

Auto Remove/Replace NC Components

If selected, the system automatically opens the Remove Component and the Add Component screens when you log an NC code.

Can Log Primary NC Code

If selected, you can log primary NC codes

Can Log Against Closed NC Code

If selected, you can log an additional nonconformance against a failure, defect, or repair that has been logged and closed

Prompt to Log Secondary NC Code

If selected, prompts operators to log a secondary NC code when they log a primary NC code

Display As-Built Link

If selected, a link to the As-Built Configuration activity appears in the NC Data Entry area of the POD.

Display Work Instruction Button

If selected, the Work Instructions button appears in the NC Data Entry area of the POD.

Field

Description

NC Code Display Criteria

NC Code: Sorts the Available NC Codes list in Log NC Client by NC code

NC Code Description: Sorts the Available NC Codes list in Log NC Client by NC code description

Priority: Sorts the Available NC Codes list in Log NC Client by priority

NC Code Description in List

If selected, NC code descriptions appear in the Available NC Codes list.

NC Data Tree Tab

Field

Description

NC Data Tree List

The nonconformance list created in List Maintenance that appears in the NC Tree plug-in for this NC client

The list controls the columns that appear and in which order they appear.

Allow Edit

If selected, allows operators to change NC code states.

NC Data Chart Tab

Field

Description

Number of Verified Defect Bars

Defines the number of verified defect bars to display
