You use this activity to create labor charge codes (LCC) and define their characteristics at your site to track employee time or to be used as the default LCC for shop orders at this site. For more information, see Labor Charge Code.

Fields

The following table describes fields requiring explanation:

Field

Description

Labor Type

Direct (default): Classifies the time as direct labor time

Indirect: Classifies the time as indirect labor time

Note Note

You cannot change this field after you save the labor charge code definition. This protects the validity of any labor data the system may have collected using the labor charge code.

Labor Sub Type

Further classifies the value in the Labor Type field

Direct:

  • Production: Subclassifies direct labor as normal production work

  • Rework: Subclassifies direct labor as work such as analysis or repair

  • None (default): Does not subclassify direct labor

Indirect:

  • Break: Subclassifies indirect labor as break time such as lunch or a 15-minute mid-morning or mid-afternoon break, or the equivalent for the shift

  • Idle: Subclassifies indirect labor as both non-work and non-break time

    This is the time users spend walking from the card reader where they clocked in to their workstation.

  • None: Does not subclassify indirect labor

Override Expired Date

If selected, the system and employees can use this labor charge code after the date in the Valid To field or before the date in the Valid From field.
