To view profiles sent from SAP ERP with associated selection rules and assigned materials and to download profiles from SAP ERP, you can use a new Profile Maintenance
activity.
Shop Order Maintenance
You can view Production
shop order class type 300 characteristics on the new Characteristic List
tab in Shop Order Maintenance
. This Production
shop order with characteristics is created in SAP ME for make-to-order production after a production order that contains characteristics of a configurable product has been transferred from SAP ERP

. Note that make-to-order orders are updated in ERP Field Maintenance
as usual but exceptions occur for make-to-stock orders.
Order Merge Process
As of SAP ME 15.1 SP03, when a material has a routing/version and a BOM version assigned in Material Maintenance
via the routing IDoc, all make-to-order (MTO) and make-to-stock (MTS) orders are processed using the order merge. Any augments (for example, work instructions) to the Configurable/Production
routing in SAP ME merge into the MTO and MTS orders.
