Process documentationBuilding the Product

You can use this process to build the product using predefined shop floor master data.

Process

  1. You create a shop order in Shop Order Maintenance (see Creating and Releasing Shop Orders).

  2. You release the shop order in Shop Order Release (see Creating and Releasing Shop Orders).

  3. In the POD, you start the SFC number (see Start).

  4. You log tools used during manufacturing for tracking tool usage in the POD (see Log Tool Check).

  5. You view your work instructions in the Work Instruction Viewer (see Work Instruction Viewer).

  6. In the Assembly Point area, you enter component data (see Assembly Point (Assemble Components)).

  7. In the Data Collection area in the POD, you enter values of the parameters that you defined in Data Collection Maintenance (see Data Collection Maintenance).

The system displays the SPC Chart for data parameters and performs validation activities for data completeness, such as components, buyoffs, data collection, tools, and open NCs (see SPC Chart Maintenance).

  8. You do one of the following:

    • Serialize the SFC number (see Serialize)

    • Sign off the SFC number to indicate that the SFC number that was in an Active state and in work has been placed back in queue at the same operation (see Sign Off)

    • Log nonconformance codes against selected SFC numbers in the POD (see POD Button Activities)

    • Complete the SFC number in the POD (see Complete)
