Background documentationDisplay and Log Buyoff

You use this activity to display and approve the completion of a manufacturing activity performed on a shop floor electronically in the PODs.

To log a buyoff, the user should have appropriate permissions. The user groups that have permissions to perform the buyoff are specified in the Buyoff Maintenance (see Buyoff Maintenance).

The options to log the buyoff are as follows:

  • Accept

Allows the user to accept the buyoff in the POD

  • Partial

Allows the user to partially complete the buyoff in the POD

Note that when the buyoff is logged as Partial, the user has to fill in the Comment field indicating the portion of the work performed.

  • Reject

Allows the user to reject or satisfy the buyoff in the POD

Note that when a buyoff is logged as Reject, the user needs to fill in the Comment field

  • Skip

Allows the user to either perform or not perform the buyoff in the POD

Prerequisites

You have defined buyoffs in Buyoff Maintenance.

Rules

The following table describes rules and settings that you can change for the Log Buyoff (LOG_BUYOFF) activity in Activity Maintenance:

Rule

Procedure

To log a buyoff, proceed as follows:

  1. Select an SFC number in the POD Work List.

  2. Choose the Log Buyoff button in the POD.

    Note Note

Since Log Buyoff is a POD plug-in, in the POD Maintenance, we suggest to configure the Log Buyoff (LOG_BUYOFF) to be manually launched by hooking this activity to the Complete button.

    End of the note.

The system displays the Log Buyoff screen containing the table with buyoffs associated for the selected SFC numbers.

  3. Choose a buyoff row in the table. The system displays the Log Buyoff Action screen area or that buyoff in the Log Buyoff screen.

  4. Specify an action and enter a comment for the current buyoff.

    Note Note

If the Partial or Reject action is being logged, comments are required.

    End of the note.
  5. Enter the login and password for logging the buyoff action.

    Note Note

To log a buyoff, the user must enter a login and password for a user that is assigned to a user group for the buyoff to be performed. When the user chooses Add, the system validates if this user can log the buyoff.

    End of the note.
  6. Choose Add to log the buyoff action and return to the POD.
