Background documentationProduction Tracking Rules

This group of rules controls how production is tracked:

System Rule

Description

Active Resource Status

The status that the system records in the Resource Log when a resource is active, if other rules determine that such information is to be tracked

Default: 1, which corresponds to Productive

Can override at: site, resource

Idle Resource Status

The status that the system records in the Resource Log when a resource is idle, if other rules determine that such information is to be tracked

Default: 2, which corresponds to Standby

Can override at: site, resource

Ignore Material Lot Size on Floor Stock Receipt

If set to true, the system ignores the material Lot Size value and creates only one floor stock ID for the quantity received (see Material Maintenance).

If set to false (default), the system uses the material Lot Size value for the number of inventory IDs that are created in Floor Stock Receipt (see Floor Stock Receipt).

Can override at: site

Time-Based Resource (Genealogy)

If set to true, indicates component traceability is enabled at the resource level rather than at the discrete SFC level. Logs assembled components to the Resource Log using time-based records rather than by SFC number.

Can override at: site, resource

Track Floor Stock

If set to true (default), tracks floor stock and information about completed SFC numbers and components assembled into parent assemblies; populates the floor stock table for completed assemblies and components.

Can override at: site, material

Track Production

If set to true (default), logs production time and quantities to the Production Log. The Production Log tracks yield, completed production, rework time/quantity, and cycle time

Can override at: site, material, operation, resource

Note Note

This system rule does not control machine hour tracking. Use the Track Resource Time rule to control the tracking of machine hours.

End of the note.

Track Resource Time

No: Does not log resource time. Use this setting if you need to start or complete multiple SFC numbers on the same resource at the same time.

Recommendation Recommendation

To improve performance, make this setting No at the global and site level unless there is a strong requirement to track resource time for every resource in the system. The tracking of time for individual resources can be enabled in Resource Maintenance (System Rule tab page).

End of the recommendation.

Yes: Logs source production time (machine hours) for resources. Does not log idle time.

Yes - Retain Details (default): Logs source production time (machine hours) for resources. When SFC numbers are removed from work, retains their SFC number detail records, regardless of the setting of the Time-Based Resource system rule.

Yes - Track Idle Time: Logs source production time (machine hours) for resources and idle time

Note Note

Unless the setting is Yes - Retain Details, the Time-Based Resource rule controls whether SFC number details are retained when SFC numbers are removed from work.

End of the note.

Can override at: site, resource
