Function documentationTransfer of Production Order with BOM Component Reference Designators

This function lets you transfer a production order with BOM containing installation points to create or update the corresponding BOM record of the Master type with component reference designators in SAP ME (see Reference Designator).

Prerequisites

SAP ERP
  • In Customizing for Bill of Material (Start of the navigation path Logistics - General Next navigation step Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Next navigation step Basic Data Next navigation step Bill of Material Next navigation step Item Data Next navigation step Define Item Categories End of the navigation path), you can define whether subitems are supported for each individual item category. In the standard system, for example, subitems are supported for the following item categories: Stock item, Non-stock item, Variable-size item, PM structure element.

  • This function works only with SAP ERP 6.05 or later with activated business function LOG_PP_MES_INT_02 (configuration type C and D).

  • You have transferred the material master records for the produced material and all the components (see Material Transfer).

  • You have created and sent work centers to SAP ME (see Transfer of Work Center to Resource/Work Center).

  • You have set up ALE communication to create and transmit LOIPRO IDocs (see Customizing for ALE for Communication with SAP ME).

You have also defined Data Replication Framework (DRF) replication model to replicate LOIPRO0 IDocs (in Customizing for Production, choose Start of the navigation path Integration with a Manufacturing Execution System Next navigation step Basic Settings for MES Integration End of the navigation path). For information about SAP ERP versions supporting DRF, see SAP Note 1793291Information published on SAP site.

  • You have defined unique ISO codes for every unit of measure.

SAP ME

Activities

  • You create or update a production order containing BOM with entered subitems in SAP ERP.

  • SAP ERP 6.05 and later with activated business function (BF) LOG_PP_MES_INT_02 distributes production orders automatically upon release based on Data Replication Framework (DRF) filter settings (see DRF Integration for MES Processes). Changes to the order are distributed immediately after the initial distribution.

    Note Note

SAP ERP 6.05 with activated BF LOG_PP_MES_INT_01 (configuration type B) distributes production orders automatically once upon release based on customizing settings. If you use SAP ERP 6.00 – 6.04 (configuration type A), you transfer the production order using the transaction POIT after creating or changing the order.

    End of the note.
  • Optional: You verify LOIPRO IDoc received in SAP MII.

After the IDoc has been sent, you can check the inbound message queue in SAPMEINT to see if the message is processed properly. This step is optional if you want to troubleshoot an issue or view the data in SAP MII. If the process runs as expected, the IDoc is processed without any user interaction and the import message is sent to SAP ME automatically. A green light signifies that the IDoc has been sent to SAP MII successfully.

  • You verify the results in SAP ME.

SAPMEINT creates or updates the Production shop order, routing and BOM record containing component reference designators in SAP ME based on the data received from SAP ERP.
