You use this activity to create or update substeps (see Substep).

For example, INSTALL_ENGINE or TORQUE_BOLT are substeps.

Fields

The following table describes fields requiring explanation:

Field

Description

Status

The status of the substep

Releasable (default): Planners can use the substep without any restrictions. Planners can assign the substep to an operation. Operators can use the substep in the POD.

New: Planners can change the substep record. Planners can assign the substep to an operation. Operators cannot use the substep in the POD until it is set to Releasable or Frozen.

Hold: This status is temporary. Planners can change the status of this substep. Planners cannot assign a substep with the status of Hold to an operation or routing step.

Frozen: Planners must not change this substep. Planners can assign the substep to an operation. The substep can be used in Routing Maintenance.

Obsolete: This substep cannot be used in Routing Maintenance.

Substep Group

Allows you to group and filter substeps in the POD. For example, Mechanical, Quality, Left, and Right. Operators can see only substeps that match this group in the POD.

Substep Type

Determines how the operator processes the substep

Normal (default): The operator must process and finish this substep.

Critical: The operator must process this substep.

Optional: The operator can skip this substep.

Substep Text

Additional text for clarification of this substep.
