You use this activity to create messages of any predefined or customer-defined type and send them to one or more user groups on the shop floor for any reason (see Message). You can also provide additional information for messages, such as material, operation, resource, SFC number, or work center data, by changing the settings of the activity rules.

Rules

The following table describes rules and settings defined for this activity in Activity Maintenance:

If set to YES, the Material field appears on the Create Message screen.

OPERATION

If set to YES, the Operation field appears on the Create Message screen.

RESOURCE

If set to YES, the Resource field appears on the Create Message screen.

SFC

If set to YES, the SFC field appears on the Create Message screen.

Default value: NO

WORK_CENTER

If set to YES, the Work Center field appears on the Create Message screen.

Default value: NO
