Procedure documentationTransferring Inventory IDs

You use this procedure to transfer an inventory ID to a different storage location or work center (see also Maintain Floor Stock).

Procedure

Transferring an Inventory ID to a Different Storage Location
  1. In the Maintain Floor Stock activity, or on the Inventory ID Details screen in the Floor Stock Receipt activity, enter a new storage location value or select one from the storage location browse.

The system validates that the user is assigned to a work center that is assigned to the original storage location. If the storage location has any work centers associated to it, the system filters the work center browse with a list of work centers that are associated with the storage location.

    Note Note

If the activity rule ALLOW_STORAGE_LOC_MOVE is set to NO and there is a storage location value, then the Storage Location field is read only and the value is displayed. For more information, see Storage Location Maintenance.

    End of the note.
  2. Enter a value or leave the Work Center field blank.

  3. If the ERP Integration Active system rule is set to True, the system sends the storage location collaboration trigger action.

Transferring an Inventory ID to a Different Work Center
  1. In the Maintain Floor Stock activity, or on the Inventory ID Details screen in the Floor Stock Receipt activity, enter new work center value or select one from work center browse.

The system validates that the user is assigned to the original work center.

The system verifies that the new work center belongs to only one storage location and that both the original and the new work center belong to the same storage location. If the new work center belongs to only one storage location and that storage location differs from that of the original work center, then the system displays the new storage location along with the new work center.

  2. If the ERP Integration Active system rule is set to True, the system sends a Storage Location collaboration trigger action .

  3. If the new work center belongs to more than one storage location, then the system blanks out the Storage Location field. If you choose a different storage location than that of the original work center, then the system displays the new storage location.
