You use this activity to customize the browse function of the following objects that are used in many SAP ME activities.

  • BOM

  • Material

  • Operation

  • Resource

  • Routing

  • Tool Number

  • Shop Order

On the Status Value tab page, you configure dropdown options of the Status field that appears in the browse window for the selected object. The Status dropdown list can include existing statuses and user-defined groups of the existing statuses.

Fields

The following tables describe fields requiring explanation:

Field

Description

Browse Object

SAP ME object for which you are customizing the browse function:

  • BOM

  • Material

  • Operation

  • Resource

  • Routing

  • Shop order

  • Tool number

Activity

SAP ME activity that contains one or more data entry fields for which you are customizing the browse function.

Browse Type

Specifies how the browse function works:

  • Quick: Ignores the value that you have entered in a data entry field and displays all the records in the search result table of the browse window for the selected object. You can enter search parameters and choose Search to narrow the search results.

  • Standard: Uses the value that you have entered in a data entry field as a search parameter.

    The browse window for the selected browse object displays search results based on the value that you have entered in the data entry field. You can enter additional search parameters and choose Search to narrow the search results.

Instant Search

This checkbox appears only if the Standard browse type is selected.

Selected: If you have not entered any value in a data entry field, the browse window displays all the records.

Cleared: If you have not entered any value in a data entry field, the browse window displays no records.

Browse Result List

The list of table columns that is used to display search results for this browse object.

The order in which the status value appears in the Status dropdown list

Status Type

Value: Displays the Status Value field that specifies an existing status value for the selected browse object

Group: Displays the Status Group field that allows you to define a new group of existing status values for the selected browse object
