Background documentationSection in an Overview Page Floorplan

Floorplan Manager (FPM) provides sections in an overview page floorplan to structure content areas of pages in more detail.

Use the FPM configuration editor, FLUID, to specify the properties of a section.

Sections have the following features:

  • Section Layout

Use the Layout Type field to assign a separate predefined layout to each section. The layout specifies the number of columns and their proportional distribution over the whole width of the content area.

  • Column Stacking

For each column in a section, you can use the Column Stack field to specify how the system displays the application-specific views (UIBBs) in a column. The following options are available:

    • Vertical sequence (default)

Deselect the Column Stack field for a column to display the UIBBs in order vertically. You can specify each UIBB's position in the sequence using the Sequence Index field.

    • Tab display (stacked layout)

Select the Column Stack field for a column to display the UIBBs horizontally as tab pages. You can specify each UIBB's position in the order of the tabs within the tabstrip. The system arranges all tabs in the column vertically.

You can specify a UIBB's unique position in a section using the following attributes of the UIBB:

  • Column

For multi column layouts, this specifies the column in which the system displays the UIBB.

  • Row Number

If you use multiple tab strips in a column, the attribute determines in which tabstrip the system puts the UIBB.

  • Sequence Index

When there are multiple UIBBs, this attribute specifies the UIBB's rank in the sequence.

At runtime, the individual sections can be recognized by the number of columns they contain and by their differing column layouts.

The system only displays the section at runtime if you have assigned UIBBs to that section. However, if you remove the last UIBB from a section at runtime, the system shows an empty section as a possible destination for a UIBB if the user moves the UIBB over that section again.
