You want to load archives (*.CAR or *.SAR) from the front end to the application server so that you can use Add-On Installation Tool to install the corresponding package.

Note Note

If these archives are smaller than 10 MB, proceed as described here.

If they are larger than 10 MB, proceed as described in Loading Installation Packages from the Application Server, since the procedure described in the present chapter is not suitable for large installation packages.

Procedure

  1. Call Add-On Installation Tool.

  2. Select Installation   Package   Load Packages   From Frontend  . The system displays an archive selection dialog box.

  3. Select the relevant archive. The system displays a dialog box that shows you the contents of the archive.

    Note Note

    To suppress this dialog box, you need to make the relevant settings in Add-On Installation Tool.

  4. To copy the archive to the application server and decompress it, choose Decompress. Once the package you want to install has been decompressed, it is displayed in Add-On Installation Tool.

Result

The archive has been copied to the application server and decompressed. The original archive has been deleted on the application server. (See also Defining the Settings in Add-On Installation Tool).
