In the following cases, proceed as described below:

  • You want to load multiple packages simultaneously.

  • You want to load packages from SAP Support Portal and announce them to Add-On Installation Tool.

  • You want to load packages from a CD and announce them to Add-On Installation Tool.

  • You cannot proceed as described under Loading Installation Packages from the Front End .

Installation packages from SAP Support Portal are compressed. You have to unpack these packages before continuing.

  1. Load the packages from SAP Support Portal or mount the relevant CD.

  2. Log on using the following user:

    Operating System

    Users

    UNIX

    <sid>adm

    IBM eServer iSeries

    <SID>OFR

    Microsoft Windows

    <SID>adm

  3. Switch to the following subdirectory:

    Operating System

    Subdirectory

    UNIX and

    IBM eServer iSeries

    /usr/sap/trans

    Microsoft Windows

    <HD-Drive>:\usr\sap\trans

  4. Use the following command to unpack the archive containing the packages:

    Operating System

    Command

    UNIX

    SAPCAR -xvf /<CD_DIR>/<PATH>/<ARCHIVE>.CAR

    IBM eServer iSeries

    SAPCAR '-xvf /QOPT/<VOLID>/<PATH>/<ARCHIVE>.CAR'

    Microsoft Windows

    SAPCAR -xvf <CD_DRIVE>:\<PATH>\<ARCHIVE>.CAR

    The unpacked packages are automatically put into the EPS inbox of the transport directory (UNIX and IBM eServer iSeries: /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in; Windows NT: <DRIVE>:\usr\sap\trans\EPS\in).

  5. To load the packages into your system, call Add-On Installation Tool and choose Installation   Package   Load Packages   From Application Server  .

    A list is displayed of the uploaded packages that are known together with all their attributes in the SAP System and can be handled in the correct way by SAP Add-On Installation Tool.

  6. Choose Back to return to the initial screen in Add-On Installation Tool.
