The Organizations functions allow you to group or define business units within the application to reflect your company's organizational structure.

Your company may define different organization views that allow you to create different perspectives on your organization structure.

Example Example

You may define an organization view that represents your organization structure from a line-of-business perspective. Alternatively, you may define an organization view that represents your organization structure from a geographical location perspective.

End of the example.

Organization views typically support the perspective from which you approach the activities to support specific access control or risk mitigation initiatives.

Within each organization view you can set up organizations based on geographical entities, functional or business units, or any other structure that your company uses. You can group organizations as nodes in an n-level hierarchy with subnodes for legal entities, profit centers, plants, business units, or divisions. Additionally, you can use individual organizations in multiple organization views.

Based on the organization structure you define, you can assign mitigating controls to the entire organization, or for subnodes within the organization.

Note Note

End of the note.

To assign mitigating controls to a specific organization, you need to categorize your mitigating controls before you create organizations.
