Functions are the building blocks of access risks. They define a collection of one or more tasks that an employee needs to complete to perform a specific goal.
These tasks are called Actions.
Functions have the following attributes:
Attribute |
Description |
---|---|
Function ID |
The identification code for the function. |
Description |
A short, plain text description of the function that identifies the nature of the function to users. |
Business Process |
A value that defines to which business process this function belongs. It is used for categorization purposes. |
Analysis Scope |
A parameter that determines if the function applies only to a single system (for example, SAP), or to multiple systems. |
When you define a function, you associate one or more actions to the function. Each of these actions has an associated permission (security object) that defines the scope of access for the action.
