Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (SCM-APO-PPS)

Planning that is executed automatically by the system.

For automatic planning, the system can automatically create receipts to cover uncovered requirements. All steps necessary to do this, such as determination of the source of supply, are executed automatically by the system.

The term automatic planning includes, for example

• Planning with the heuristics from production planning
• The immediate creation of new receipts to immediately cover a new or a changed dependent or stock transport requirement

If and when the system automatically plans a product depends on the PP planning procedure that is set for the product.
