The state of a product being available for purchase in a particular store or channel during a particular time period. For brick-and-mortar stores, this can be synonymous with the product being "on the shelf".
Availability can be represented logically as 1 for available and 0 for unavailable. Availability can also be represented as a probability.
Availability is calculated and taken into account in demand modeling. This allows the model to understand when availability issues caused a decrease in unit sales instead of other factors such as offers or price.
