A subdivision of archiving objects for destroying HR data. An archiving object in HR groups infotypes and, if necessary, other dependent tables with the same retention periods for the data. An archiving subobject comprises a grouping of subtypes of an infotype for which the data can be destroyed collectively.

There are two types of archiving subobjects:

An archiving subobject comprises a group of subtypes to which the same retention periods apply (for example, absence types).

An archiving subobject comprises a single subtype of an infotype if different retention periods apply to the subtypes.
