Internationalization (I18N) (BC-I18)

A subtype of blended code page.

In ambiguous blended code pages, two characters can share the same code point. The logon language determines which of the characters is to be displayed on the screen.

Example

French uses the character /û/ and Hungarian uses the character /ü/, but neither language in this blended code page uses both characters simultaneously. In this case, mapping the two characters to one code point is possible and thus allows the support of more languages in the system.
