A set of methods for consistent archiving of and access to data that belongs together, forming a self-contained technical rather than business object.
This usually applies to data shared by different business objects archived and accessed by different archiving objects using the Archive Development Kit (ADK), such as change documents. Archiving classes are developed exclusively by SAP and must always be used with an archiving object.
