A special way of creating an association between an item in a purchasing-side document and an item in a sales-side document. A special feature here is that trading contracts can be linked at the point of delivery. Materials in an inbound delivery can immediately be placed in an outbound delivery. The system then retrospectively associates the resulting trading contracts. This method is called "on the fly" because a user can create the association while processing the delivery document without first having to access the regular association management functions.
